Is the biggest culture event in Ponorogo regency that held on a certain occasion of welcomed Islam New Year or Saka New Year that often known as one suro date (one of Javanese month). This agenda entered East Java tourism calendar (Calendar of event). Grebeg Suro is the ritual culture incident and became the party site of Ponorogo people. Usually it begun a week before 1 Suro.
It is the series of Grebeg Suro agenda is Reog National festival, various good activity sorts the race and the exhibition and ended with Larungan agenda in Ngebel lake. The parade of the elephant statue that consist of the musical procession and the elephant statues. Those statues have received by human kind and climbed onto by two children. This art is has influenced by Islam culture.

At its core is a showcasepitting dexterity livestock which in turn will raise the prestige of aparticular livestock associations. The participants are ranchers,sheep ranchers are scattered in almost all western Java, especially thearrowroot, sumedang, Bandung, Majalengka and others. Pitting event held every yearby a system of competition, almost every month this activity is carried outtaking turns in these areas. In Bandung arena pitting oneof which lies in the valley siliwangi (in addition to sports fields SabugaITB).



The atmosphere attractions ..
Each event would provoke,always crowded with spectators. This activity also has afairly high prestige because a lot of leaders Sundanese which is also a fan aswell as their owners, such as Kang Ibing, Etc..
The prize up for grabs alsonot arbitrary, a car or motorcycle is something familiar.This is not surprising becausethe price of a sheep, a penalty can reach tens of millions of dollars.
Like a boxing match, the arenais also equipped by a jury of evaluators, referees and coaches who come todance jaipongan sheep every time his sheep in action.Usually every game is dividedinto two rounds, and each round consists of ten times the collision of thehead. Adu dexterity is also dividedinto different classes based on the weight of sheep fighter.
